JAAR’s 10 for 10 Walking Challenge – Thank You for Your Support!
At JAAR, we’re thrilled to announce that our 10 for 10 Walking Challenge is well underway! As part of our 10th-anniversary celebrations, supporters across Jersey are walking, running, and moving in ways big and small to help raise vital funds and awareness for survivors of sexual violence.
What is the 10 for 10 Walking Challenge?
The premise is simple: participants commit to walking 10,000 steps a day for 10 weeks to raise money and awareness for JAAR. The goal is not just to get fit, but to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have experienced sexual violence. Whether you’re pounding the pavement on long walks, running for your steps, or simply walking to and from the office, every step you take supports our mission to provide trauma-informed counselling and support for survivors.
A Heartfelt Thank You!
To everyone who has signed up or sponsored a participant — thank you! Your commitment to this challenge is not just about fitness; it’s about solidarity with survivors and helping to create a world where people feel safe, supported, and heard. Every step you take is a step closer to making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
How People Are Taking on the Challenge
We are so inspired by the creative ways people are completing their 10 for 10 challenges! Some are walking around their neighborhoods, others are running to reach their daily step goals, and many are incorporating steps into their daily routines, whether that’s walking to and from work, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or getting out for family walks in the evening. Some are even organising group walks, sharing the experience with friends and family to amplify their fundraising efforts.
Whatever your approach, we are grateful for your dedication and enthusiasm. Each step is not just a personal achievement, but a way of contributing to something far bigger: supporting survivors of sexual violence and raising the funds needed to provide critical services, including trauma-informed counselling and support.
Why Your Support Matters
Every penny you raise, every donation made, and every step taken helps us deliver much-needed services to survivors of sexual violence. The funds raised through the 10 for 10 Walking Challenge will directly support our work in providing trauma-informed, accessible, and compassionate counselling.
As a charity, we are committed to offering a safe and understanding space for survivors to process their experiences and begin their healing journey. We know that healing from sexual violence is a long and often challenging process, but we also know that with the right support, survivors can rebuild their lives and reclaim their power.
Your participation in this challenge enables us to continue offering these crucial services, ensuring that more people have access to the support they need, when they need it most.
How Can You Support JAAR?
Donate: Every donation, big or small, helps us continue our vital work. If you are able, consider donating to JAAR to support survivors and our trauma-informed services.
Sponsor a Participant: If you know someone taking part in the challenge, consider sponsoring them. Your contribution helps drive their motivation and will be put to work providing life-changing support to survivors.
Spread the Word: Even if you can’t walk or donate, you can still support us by sharing our mission and encouraging others to get involved. The more people who hear about JAAR and the 10 for 10 Walking Challenge, the more we can amplify our collective impact.
Together, We Make a Difference
As we reach our 10th anniversary, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible supporters like you who make this work possible. It’s because of people like you that we can continue to provide the support that survivors of sexual violence so deeply need. Your participation in the 10 for 10 challenge helps us move closer to a world where every survivor has the resources, care, and understanding they deserve.
Thank you for being part of this important journey with us — whether by walking, donating, or cheering on those who are. Together, we’re taking steps towards a brighter, more supportive future for survivors.
