JAAR 2023 Christmas Auction

Local businesses come together to support survivors of sexual violence this Christmas

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our annual Online Christmas Auction! This online event will run until Wednesday 13th December at 10pm, giving you the chance to win incredible items ahead of Christmas, whilst supporting a local charity.

JAAR is an independent & confidential service. Our empathetic, non-judgmental helpline & counselling service helps survivors, & their friends & family, cope with & recover from the trauma of rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, & childhood sexual abuse. JAAR has supported hundreds of survivors since it was founded in 2014.

Our Auction features 50 local lots, showcasing beautiful Genuine Jersey gifts from local artisans, exciting trips, & tours on & around the Island, relaxing spa & beauty treatments, indulgent afternoon teas & overnight stays, tickets to London theatre shows & many more.

One lucky bidder will win a 2024 Season Jersey Race Club Membership.  Those looking to gift someone special can bid on Lisa Le Brocq’s lovingly handcrafted bird necklaces. Art lovers can bid for one of Jools Holt’s Signed Iconic Scenes or Rosemary Blackmore’s incredible seascape. Those wanting a unique Island experience can bid to join local guide Kazz on a Wild Adventure.  Adventure seekers can bid for an access-only guided tour of Corbiere Lighthouse with a Ports of Jersey Harbour Pilot. Jersey Honey’s Bee, Tea & Cakes Tour lot is sure to get bids buzzing.

You can get to know your family history by bidding for a Family Tree voucher with Kathy Gillen Genealogy.  If you want to spend time with family & friends you can bid to join Claire Haithwaite in her studio for a pottery lesson, not forgetting tea & homemade Mary Berry lemon drizzle cake! Fancy something a bit different in 2024? Why not bid for Trapeze Yoga classes or Hoops & Glitter’s handmade Hula Hoop!

Last year’s auction raised nearly £3,000. We have been blown away by the generosity of local businesses & individuals in response to this year’s appeal for prizes, we are incredibly grateful for each, & every lot received, however big or small. We need to raise around £20,000 a month to support survivors in Jersey, so we are hoping to raise even more this year.

“Looking at the whole picture of my life in a safe, supportive place with my counsellor helped me to understand, forgive & love myself. It has changed a lifetime of fear & sadness & guilt into living my life feeling free. I cannot recommend my counsellor & this service highly enough.”  Survivor.
