In 2021 with the support from the Channel Island Community Foundation JAAR launched a Let’s Talk Consent Podcast.
JAAR wanted to create a podcast to raise awareness of sexual assault, dispel the myths surrounding rape and promote progressive thinking towards survivors of rape and sexual assault. In September 2021, we released the first two episodes and we’re delighted that islanders have started to enjoy listening.
We have used the podcast to discuss in an easy to understand the way the effects of sexual trauma, consent, how to create a consent culture, the dangerous side effect of pornography and how it can influence an individual by creating unrealistic exceptions of what a healthy sexual relationship should be.
