New Training Opportunity: Strengthening Professional Responses to Domestic Abuse

Strengthening Professional Responses to Domestic Abuse

We are pleased to offer a new training opportunity designed for professionals and practitioners across a wide range of sectors who may come into contact with individuals affected by domestic abuse.

Whether you work in healthcare, social care, education, community services, or another client-facing role, this session will support you to build confidence in recognising and responding to domestic abuse. While the training draws on therapeutic approaches and explores how domestic abuse may present within counselling settings, the learning is highly relevant to any professional supporting survivors.

The session focuses on trauma-informed, evidence-based practice, with an emphasis on safety, empowerment, and compassionate, effective support.

About the Training

Domestic abuse can have complex and long-lasting impacts on an individual’s mental health and wellbeing. This training will equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond safely and appropriately within their role.

During the session, participants will explore how to:

  • Recognise and understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and how these may present, including within therapeutic contexts
  • Apply trauma-informed principles in a range of professional settings
  • Build safe, trusting relationships and respond appropriately to disclosures
  • Support recovery while maintaining professional boundaries and safeguarding their own wellbeing

This training is suitable for both those new to this area of work and experienced professionals looking to strengthen their practice.

Jeannette Roddy from DACTARI will be your trainer for both days. For further information please visit this link Domestic Abuse Counselling| Manchester | Dactari
